Taurus Season

Taurus’ landing catalyzes the seismic wave that is now building in the lower world, as we enter this time with a t-square of tension between the Sun, Mars and Pluto in fixed Earth, Fire and Air. People and situations will be needing to find things to push against. Keep your energetic senses sharp to maneuver around the projections, arrows and flamethrowers. There’s more advice later on for navigating this transformative transit, but this seems like an important introduction into what is usually a month long garden party with the abundant pleasures of Venus. Thankfully there is something to celebrate here as there’s a noticeable change in the air as first Mercury, then Mars and finally Venus all cross the thresholds of their retrograde shadow degrees and into new fire-scapes of spirit. A spirited, pioneering vibration invigorates new identities, heart callings and creative instincts. The Sun’s trodding Earth energy will be a needed ballast to the rapidity of these incoming changes. Make plenty of time to be with Earth, bare naked in any sense of the word. Whether that’s barefoot hikes, birthday suit forest tea parties or raw conversations with her spirit.

Venus reigns supreme here, and she is preparing to rage onto the scene once she enters Aries in her full warrior suit. She’s on the last leg of her journey in the sea of consciousness with some powerful allies at her side, Saturn and Rahu - the fated head of the dragon. New connections and depths of being are receiving the energetic structures for a long and fruitful companionship. Appreciate the beauty of this profound process that we have made it through this winter and feel the excitement of what is coming and landing this season.

Saturday April 19 - Sun enters Taurus // Mars 0º Leo trine Neptune in Aries - Time to embrace and stabilize the cascade of changes we’ve been through thus far this year. The Sun’s journey is deeply influenced by the renewed morning star version of Venus, giving more feistiness and fight to what is usually a more passive time of year.

Mars invigorates and inspires new dreams to manifest. Active heart listening bring out wild ideas that could seed a sweeping cultural zeitgeist. This is a time to have a brutally honest heart to heart with your headstrong willpower and what your heart is calling forth. Are they on the same page? If not, this trine brings a window of flowing harmony to make more easeful adjustments to your plans before these two planets oppose each other and illuminate your genius or folly, which occurs in August.

Sunday April 20 - Venus 25º Pisces sextile Uranus in Taurus // Mercury 3º Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius // Sun 1º Taurus square Mars in Leo - Hearts and minds are offered opportunities to expand into some surprising and unknown territories of the universe. As Venus is in a closing sextile to Uranus, there may be a final gift to harvest from their past year’s revolution together, which began in mid-May of 2024. This may show up suddenly in a friendship, your bank account, garden or in the realm of spirit. Mercury’s mental perceptions receive an opening depth plunge into the void to glimpse an unknown unknown that seeds a revolutionary push to actualize this awe inspiring piece of information. Messages on this day carry extra weight and transformative power.

Meanwhile, there’s a major challenge pushing for growth here as this Sun - Mars square is one peak crescendo of this fixed t-square that includes the underworld power of Pluto in the cosmic star space of Aquarius. A crisis of the heart is forcing one to make a choice that may seem impossible in the moment, but a collective change and death process is what’s up. Mission statements, land agreements, product lines, creative visions and soul relations encounter a jarring adjustment period. All of this power needs to be wisely funneled into the sign of Scorpio. Go dark. The world will be. Strategize beforehand on how you will embody this energy as it blankets the planet for a week. Hunkering down into your inner sanctuary to go through this ego death process is one option. Public displays of death and resurrection that normalize these cycles of life are also appropriate, perfectly fitting with the religious celebration of Easter. Unfortunately, there are many people who will take this energy into much more chaotic actions, wreaking havoc in the collective. Wednesday April 23 - Venus conjunct North Node at 26º Pisces // Sun 3º Taurus square Pluto in Aquarius - There’s some real mixed messaging at play here as there’s a clarifying illumination of the human collective’s shadow that’s been repressed and is now giving us instructions for the next 9 months of how to change tactics and proceed. Soul memories of past extinction events, event horizon experiences and other existential and physical threats to life may appear. Resource management and energy sources may be part of this equation, as glitches and strange anomalies could indicate where changes are to happen.

On the balancing polarity of astrological magic we have the goddess of love, beauty and Earth crossing the open portal to the evolving source of creation, streaming some goodness and spiritual blessings our way in the midst of this dark night of the soul. There is always light to be found somewhere. This is another point of resolution from Venus’ retrograde, so there may be resources or relationships that show up to usher you along your resonant path of evolution.

Thursday April 24 - Venus conjunct Saturn at 27º Pisces - Venus is really spending the entire month of April conjoined with the strict authority of Saturn, but their exact meeting of hearts and structures occurs today. As Venus operates much more harmoniously in the oceanic waters of consciousness she is the one teaching our inner authoritarian how flexibility and compassion give one greater power and longevity in any leadership roles. Rigidity brings fragility, and probably a downfall eventually as you’ll always be having to reinforce your boundaries, swat off attacks and adopt a hyper vigilant and low level mistrust of all those around you. Leading with love and truth and compassion attracts people to you that want to support your mission, dreams and projects wholeheartedly. Resources, financial and otherwise, could also receive some anchoring structures that are the beginning of a foundation for bigger moves down the road.

Friday April 25 - Mars 3º Leo opposite Pluto in Aquarius // Uranus 26º Taurus trine South Node in Virgo & sextile North Node in Pisces (thru May 12)- Today marks the final, exact aspect of the fiery hellstorm t-square between the Sun, Mars and Pluto we’ve been immersed in for the past week or so. And this is the 3rd and final Mars - Pluto opposition that completes a chapter of our story that began wayyyy back in the first week of November when they made their first opposition. Ways that power dynamics have been manipulated and weaponized are on full display, denying the reality of these war tactics is only seeding a more painful cycle of destruction later on at their third quarter square in late September this year. You’ll see the denial of this manifest in violent outbursts and revolts. Radical acceptance of ones wounded heart and the actions that have been taken in shadowy defense of this open a pathway to healing. This ripples into the collective, changing the dynamics of all of the power and energy systems of our world.

Luckily, Uranus the great awakener is working in harmony with the lunar nodes that brings some out of the box solutions to this quagmire. This is about a 3 week transit, so mentally set yourself up to have a series of Eureka! moments and spontaneous leaps of faith. We may experience a sudden loss that is quickly recognized as a dead weight that needed to leave our lives. The inner critic that has held one in a state of suspension may be laid to rest. Ancient mental patterns that enmeshed themselves in our bodies and lineages may show themselves, clearing this space for new inter-dimensional connections waiting to be made. Unseen guidance is greatly amplified in these weeks, so keep your spirit ears and eyes open and attuned to the symbolic messages that permeate this planet.

Sunday April 27 - New Moon at 7º Taurus - This is the first lunation, post-eclipses, where we can really feel like we are moving forward in these new energies. Don’t get too excited yet though, this New Moon is still in tight squares to Mars and Pluto, and its ruler Venus, is conjunct Saturn. There may be an existential, melancholic song playing in the background that is questioning the point of seeding anything for future growth in the midst of such turmoil and despair. But! I hope this isn’t the case and you can tap into a full and uninterrupted connection to Mother Earth, relishing in her abundant nature and enjoying the multitude of pleasures and gifts she bestows upon us. There is an acceptance of foundational change that is being asked for, which can trigger our deep seated survival instincts. This may open an opportunity to grieve the death process that our home is going through, understanding the cleansing power that this brings to oneself to move forward in deeper connection and truth with her, whatever that ends up being.

Wednesday April 30 - Venus enters Aries - Aspirational desires get the fire they need to take off, finally! Tinkering with new styles, dramatic entrances, spontaneous declarations of adoration and borderline aggressive acts of affection are in the air. Suit up for however you deal with this much social activity. The power of feminine receptivity is paradoxically pushed into the limelight. Financial affairs may brighten, or at least become more clear in Venus’ race through Aries. By May 16 Venus will clear her retrograde shadow degree, putting all of these themes into refreshingly new territory.

Friday May 2 - Venus conjunct Neptune 1º Aries - The fires of love burn bright, so bright they can burn the retinas. Inspirational connections may be sparked. Profound experiences of god-ness may light a fire in ones spiritual heart. Enjoy the moment! But don’t grasp its physical being, let its essence continue to burn in your sovereign inner self, lighting your unique path forward.

Sunday May 4 - Pluto stations retrograde at 3º Aquarius - The outer expressions of shadow material turn inward for about 6 months. Transformational power condenses around this day, activating potential drops in energy fields that destabilize one’s life into another soul growth “opportunity”.

Tuesday May 6 - Venus 3º Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius // Mercury conjunct Chiron at 23º Aries - A doorway is opened to access new depths in a partnership, business venture or some fiery pursuit of the heart. We may begin to sense the first opportunities of some powerful alliances that have been brewing in the energetic world since December when Venus and Pluto seeded their new cycle together at 0º of Aquarius. Efforts put in through the winter to individuate further from collective power dynamics and soul karma start to payoff, or at least one can receive some revitalizing energy to pioneer forward.

Mental weapons that have been used against oneself may be laid to rest if one desires to do so. On the other hand, mind games may permeate the ethers as ones wounded ego acts up.

Saturday May 10 - Mercury enters Taurus - The rapid fire ideas and inspirations to create slow down now to feel and assess the deeper necessities of what one is actually doing. For some this is a blessed time, as the energy of Earth helps one to methodically process and understand things, forming a solid foundation of perceptual reality. For others this can breed frustration and anxiety, as the speedy Mercurial mind’s efforts are brought down to pragmatic Earth. This is a pause to give oneself a mental retreat in preparation for Mercury’s Gemini homecoming extravaganza in a fast two weeks’ time!

Monday May 12 - Lunar Beltane - Full Moon at 22º Scorpio // Mercury 3º Taurus square Pluto in Aquarius - We’ve reached the cross quarter lunation event that springs us even closer to the peak light of the summer solstice. The dark waters that pull us into the depths of ones hidden psychological material are vibrating in harmony with the grand creation designer. Excavations of awareness are rewarded. In the three days leading up to this Full Moon track the emotional responses that get triggered in your body to study the energy currents that are running them under the surface events. This offers an opportunity to shed some foundational layers of soul pain and suffering, making space for landings of new energies.

This may all be tainted by an existential mental crisis of sorts as ones worst, anxiety inducing fears get a sharp poke from the underworld of ones soulscape. Intense mental intrusions or perceived threats to ones survival that are experienced are not coming from this physical material world, even though they are playing out right in front of our eyes. Themes of alienation and exile may bubble up from the ancient past that used to pretty much guarantee the grim reaper’s appearance. Collective idealogical battles may reach a rattling fever pitch. People will probably double down on some pretty terrible ideas rather than see this tension as an opportunity to change their narratives and minds for a brighter outcome later this summer. Be willing to let all of these fixed and challenging aspects change you rather than harden you. Be like water, fluid and expansive.
