Libra Season & Equinox

The Earth has parted to release us into the airs of Libra, where we re-engage life in new orientation to ourselves and to others in this dance. After the purifying eclipses there’s a refreshing crispness and clarity that welcomes us into this autumnal Equinox. Entering this season with a grateful heart for all that was let go of last month brings a sense of anticipatory excitement for who and what will be showing up this season to join you on this newly cleared path. While we do get to feel like we’re sailing on the winds of change, there are definitely moments of turbulence as we get a series of tense squares and oppositions this season that will test and challenge allegiances, alliances and the energetic structures that weave the human stories together. The scales of balance will continue to jump wildly back and forth, the whiplash may be disorienting at times but it’s helping each of us get our sea legs in preparation for the waters of Scorpio.

Monday Sept 22 - Autumn Equinox - Sun enters Libra, opposite Neptune rx in Aries // Mars enters Scorpio - The autumn crossroads blows in with an aura of disillusionment after the eclipses massive endings. The Sun begins to form a grand air trine with Uranus and Pluto the next couple of days, and angles it out with the opposition to Neptune, forming a kite. This kite marks a noticeable shift in energetics, initiating new movement in relationships and resetting your orientation to the world. Trust the direction the cosmic winds are pushing you, as your Soul and Higher Self are tugging at the paracord to steer you into this burgeoning birth of a new dream. This brings in the disillusionment piece that Neptune carries, as it is The Is-ness of the universe; it is the dream of Source/God/Creation that operates with zero human-centered moral or ethical code, zero care for individual hopes and dreams, and zero acknowledgement of separateness of any kind. It completely dissolves and decentralizes the human experience to one of such grand scales that we can only ever comprehend a fractal sliver of its ever evolving state. The light of our solar system is staring directly into the wellspring of this divine design, giving us another glimpse of possibility states that initiate another sacrifice of personal will to fully realize what is shown.

Mars entering its deepwater home of Scorpio adds to the intensity that is already reading at an 11 on the Richter Scale. Even though it’s not exact for a couple more days it enters into a building battle with Pluto, and a confusing and pushing yod aspect with Uranus and Neptune. Scoprio is all about the process of transformation and getting to the root of what is causing the distortions in ones field and relationships to power. To achieve this, which is what Mars intends to do, these blocks need to materialize to be worked through. Every shadow behavior, every psychological manipulation tactic, every repressed emotion of pain and sorrow is oozing out of the primordial well of life for the purpose of showing us where and how these entities and energies continue to operate in the background of our lives. Personal attacks, collective zeitgeist wars, gaslighting tournaments and narcissistic power grabs are activated on one hand. On the other hand we can discover new motivations for digging into our own depths of power to become more interdependent, as trust and loyalty will eventually have a new foundation to build upon. Mars’ initial square to Pluto in Aquarius may vibrate out a friendship or group of cohorts that no longer have this stable foundation to construct a deep and meaningful relationship upon, clearing the way for new ones to show up. If the break doesn’t happen here, it will be kicked down the road to the ending of this power cycle when Mars finally meets again with the lord of the underworld in late January, probably with far greater impacts to your nervous system and wellbeing, just saying. Mars is in the depths of transformation until November 4.

Tuesday Sept 23 - Sun 1º Libra trine Uranus rx in Gemini & Pluto rx in Aquarius // Mars quincunx Uranus rx in Gemini & Neptune rx in Aries - Grand ideas that have the potential to revolutionize the evolutionary timeline of humanity move freely here. Diplomatic curiousity via the Socratic method can open new connections, making friends with strange neighbors that suddenly make your environment much more interesting. Even though there will be a strong pull to talk, a lot, make room for listening to what the deeper parts of yourself are sharing through intuitive hits and synchronistic events.

Alongside the harmony of the grand air trine is a more complex and haunting yod that Mars is forming for the next few days. The urge to indulge in impulsive recklessness and escape mechanisms will be quite strong, and attempts to control or “fix” the situation will only aggravate the matter. One may experience some intense discomfort with other’s strong emotions and their own impulses for independent thoughts that differ from yours. This yod is teaching how to hold the tension of paradox and continue to be an unentangled witness to the dark night of the soul journey that humanity is on.

Wednesday Sept 24 - Mars 1º Scorpio square Pluto rx in Aquarius - The exact square off between the rulers of the depths hits today, though I’m guessing that there was a catalyzing spark that brought this matter to a head in the past couple of days. Collectively this is a signature for war, and not just the boom boom blood everywhere kind, but the soft wars of rampant propaganda, seen psychological operations and completely unseen black ops that undermine the human collective rather than just a nation state. “Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars: An Introductory Programming Manual” is recommended reading to understand what has been constructed in the background for decades and is now running full time. Find it here. Knowing is half the battle, then one can shape their life accordingly.

On a more personal level, to add to what was mentioned in Mars’ intro to Scorpio, themes around trust and betrayal may present in relationships to groups you’re a part of, splintering some and soldifying others. People in positions of power, or those that are trying to get power, may resort to some disturbingly manipulative tactics that have a lasting impact on your future navigation of alliances. Strategizing compromises with wisdom and clear boundaries will go a long ways and can bear some rewarding fruit in early November potentially. Repressed anger could suddenly erupt, which actual volcanic eruptions could also be a part of this storyline as Gaia releases her own pent up energy.

Wednesday October 1 - Mercury 22º Libra square Jupiter in Cancer - Overtures of understanding may become misconstrued, warping olive branches into daggers. Megalomania could be off the charts, as people confidently overinflate their importance in the social order or home. See where messages morph to fit ones narrative of worth and security. Ideas around belonging and the mutable boundaries around who belongs where will also get louder around this time.

Friday October 3 - Mercury 25º Libra opposite Chiron rx in Aries - Partnerships and allegiances could feel like they’re getting pulled apart, with real-feeling threats to ones own safety getting triggered. Excommunication from the tribe is an ancestral fear that everyone carries, which back in the day almost guranteed death. Heal the anxiety and fear of this by building the courage to be an independent voice of reason and balance in the midst of a lot of fear mongering and posturing on either side of a entirely shitty see-saw. The social currency of victimization may be on display. There are parallels to the way this energy has played out in ones much younger days, when tantrums and cries for attention got a reaction to get energy from. The hurt child within continues to wage war. Non-reactions to inflammatory tactics diffuse the situation. Some have the vision and understanding to do this now.

Saturday October 4 - Venus conjunct South Node 18º Virgo - A past relationship returns to initiate you out of an old operating system and possibly light a torch for the new path forward. Financially this may catalyze a sudden outgoing payment or on a larger scale another rumble of supply chains, either way both situations will reorganize how you prioritize necessities. Insatiable desires for what one is lacking may become clearer.

Monday October 6 - Aries Full Moon Sun 13º Libra opposite Moon in Aries // Mercury enters Scorpio, quincunx Neptune rx in Aries & Uranus rx in Gemini - On one hand this is the first big wind down of eclipse energy as this Full Moon’s peak closes a gateway behind us, but there’s a very similar current running behind the scenes as the Solar Eclipse 2 weeks ago had this same Scorpionic yod energy. So instead of battle ready Mars wielding the scorpion’s tail as a weapon, now Mercury the magician is holding the scorpion’s tail in his dexterous hands as a tool of creation. The Moon itself is illuminating our courage and instinctive ability to navigate the tenuous landscapes that have been tearing our feet and guts up lately. The warrior spirit that got us this far is something to be celebrated when it’s channeled into constructive and life supporting ventures, or when defending against acutely violent attacks. This Moon combined with the Mercurial yod opens an opportunity to choose to lay down some ways that you’ve been using this warrior energy as a weapon that perpetuates themes of betrayal and anger, suspicion and violence, transmuting it into a new creative engine that brings harmony to society and a new sense of interdependence to yourself. When this opportunity appears, trust your gut to take the leap and let the divine guide your hands.

Tuesday October 7 - Mercury 1º Scorpio square Pluto rx in Aquarius - Hidden psychological and existential fears obscure perceptions of reality, blowing matters out of proportion or manufacturing threats in ones mind that can quickly grow and add to the collective psychosis. One may become fixated on a group of people, either in deep attraction to their mission or this group becomes a scapegoat for all that is wrong with the world. Collectively this scapegoating of cultures / people will be amplified and the tried and true, divide and conquer strategy will be used to take away more human rights from everyone at the end of the day. Use this energy to sit in the discomfort and feel the energetic push to pick sides, discern where this push is coming from and what its end game agenda is. The powers of persuasion are strong here. Challenge the status quo by opting for disengagement, or go for the third option that isn’t presented, as radical ideas could appear that suddenly destabilize these war like strategies.

Wednesday October 8 - Venus 23º Virgo sextile Jupiter in Cancer - Inspiration to organize your home and other things that bring you a sense of security such as finances and the food pantry could strike today. Creative pursuits receive a boost of energy here, so follow that desire to hermit in the studio if that is what calls. Friendships can strengthen through shared vulnerability and laughing at our most humbling teachable moments.

Saturday October 11 - Venus 26º Virgo opposite Saturn rx in Pisces - An opportunity to discern if a previous committment you’ve made to someone (probably older or in a position of authority) is benefiting your personal growth process. Is the effort worth it? Is the compensation fair for what your investment is? Do you feel like you’re in service to something greater or does it feel more akin to slavery? These questions can be applied to personal relations, your relationship to your job or career, as well as spiritually minded pursuits and groups. This is a time to review and practically assess how you invest your time, attention, money and energy in contractual agreements of all kinds. One may also feel a lack of something that is desired here, whether that’s the ideal partner, job or pet; the desire to seek things outside of oneself pulls strongly at ones heart. Be aware of savior complexes that are a projection of this energy.

Monday October 13 - Venus enters Libra, opposite Neptune rx in Aries // Pluto stations direct at 1º Aquarius - Venus returns to much more comfortable and familiar territory as she enters her airy home of the Libran scales to bring a renewal of balance to the relationships and resources that have been getting the humbling and purifying Virgo treatment lately. New contracts can now be approached with a level of fairness and mutual support that create win-win situations for everyone. New relationships may also manifest that enhance your mission that got reset in the eclipse portal last month. There’s a levity that returns to our social lives while Venus dances through Libra until November 6.

Venus’ first planetary contact is an opposition with the higher octave of her power, Neptune, giving us this day to feel where social niceties and unspoken social contracts are no longer helpful in achieving the new paradigm’s dreams that are slowly forming in the collective field. Relational motivations and the delegation of resources may be hazy for a few days, so its best to not over analyze the situation initially. This feels like a grace period that we need to kind of float through that is developing faith in the divinity of all this is playing out in the world; the good, the bad and the ugly, but especially the bad and the ugly. Venus is teaching us where our personal responsibility resides in these larger frameworks of social (dis)order and how to balance wise action with necessary pauses.

Tuesday October 14 - Venus trine Uranus rx in Gemini & Pluto in Aquarius - This grand air trine brings a buzzy whirlwind of activity and sparkly messages that can rapidly shift and realign your financial outlook as well as the people that you find in your sphere. Questions as to where you are to apply yourself and how may be answered as a new and exciting role for you to fulfill appears out of the cosmic magician’s hat. Trust your intuition and the magic that does show up for you on this day, as the universe is definitely conspiring in your favor.

Thursday - Saturday October 16-18 - Sun 24º Libra square Jupiter in Cancer and opposite Chrion rx in Aries // Mars 17º Scorpio sextile South Node in Virgo, trine North Node in Pisces - This whole weekend is a character building grinder that will be strengthening our willpower and dismantling some emotional traps. The Sun is forming a tense t-square with Jupiter and Chiron that will force us to release old resentments and grudges related to childhood experiences where ones parents weren’t capable of providing necessary support in vulnerable developmental transitions. Themes around a failure to launch come up. We need to feel the emotional impacts of these past experiences and then once the emotions have been processed from our bodies, channel this into a very practical ambition or project that we may have been dreaming of for some time. The deeper the tears and vulnerability you can access, the more power and material you will have to construct with. Don’t get caught in any mental traps of fairness and victimhood, the injustices of society have their origin points in each person’s core wounds, these must be the focal points of work here. Building an empire is an inside job.

The gift that Mars is bringing this weekend is the grit and fortitude to make some real spiritual progress as we traverse these sensitive waters. He is our cheerleader from the banks of the river Styx, providing instinctive strategic support to develop a new level of inner authority that flows with the unfolding evolutionary path of Earth, not fighting the current. In other words, personal will harmonizes with divine will. Those who have manipulated their own power to deceive, betray, gaslight and use and abuse others will be put in time-out to think about what’s been done. There’s a cosmic checkpoint that all must pass through, humble is the path forward.

Piscean compassion is growing here as well, which is really not the soft and fuzzy experience often depicted, but is much more Scorpionic as it’s forged out of the painful process of developing and fortifying boundaries that strengthen the banks of ones own stream for each of our unique spiritual journeys linking up in this cosmic river of no space and no time.

Sunday October 19 - Mercury 17º Scorpio sextile South Node in Virgo, trine North Node in Pisces // Mercury conjunct Mars 18ª Scorpio - Mercury joins this cosmic river Styx party boat to get our minds in on the weekend’s action. This is where we get to really sit and deeply contemplate the myriad of topics covered these past few days. There’s a dark brooding and stewing energy here, so don’t be surprised to fall into caverns of your mental scape that hold some disburbing psychological material you never knew was there. Use this opportunity to gather deeper understandings of why and how you have betrayed yourself at times, and how this has affected your other relationships, and going even further to see how this theme has much bigger human ancestral roots. With Mercury aspecting the Virgo South Node especially, this is a potent window to root out karmic material that has intercepted your spiritual progress. Past life guilt, martyrdom, imprisonment and religious fervor are themes that may have rippled into present day relationships and are now ready to go. The universes messages are strong here, so you probably won’t need to go seeking anything, it’s going to be right in our faces as far as where our attention needs to be. We’re on this ride for a 3 day tour, as Mercury travels with Mars until Tuesday the 21st, the perfect lead up to the fresh start that the New Moon brings forth.

Tuesday October 21 - Libra New Moon Sun conjunct Moon 28º Libra - I really hope this shows up as a pot of gold at the end of the long, shitty rainbow ride through the whole eclipse season. That said, this lunation is still in a waning t-square with Jupiter and Chiron, and is forming an uncomfortable yod with Uranus and Neptune and is in a building square to Pluto, so while the gold may be present, it’s going to demand that we have the utmost integrity in our hearts before we can even think about touching it. The galactic ambassadors that are the outer planets are watching us with some major side-eye here. Nothing escapes their attention. So any intentions and plans that you are seeding at this Moon, know that the fruit that is born just after the Spring Equinox next year will reflect the integrity of your present self here.

This Moon does feel like it will be supportive of integrating the tough realizations that the Mars-Mercury tango excavated from our souls the past few days. There may be a period of levity and uplifting peace that permeates your awareness, rebalancing your orientation to life from the surface of the Earth and out of the catacombs. So take some nice, enjoyable breaths of fresh air this morning, sing with the birds, and maybe join some friends for breakfast, cause the Moon will quickly bring us back to these depths of Scorpio just a few hours after her exact conjunction with the Sun. We may feel this pulling down of energy from this New Moon on as the Sun will join the Moon, Mars and Mercury in Scorpio in just 2 days time. I’d expect a catalysing cultural event of some sort that will clearly delineate this jump from the light and airy Libra down into the murky depths of power hungry Scorpio. We shall see soon enough what this unforgettable trek through the light of the dark forest will bring up in this great transitional year.
