Cancer Season: Addendum & Act II

I’ve been ruminating on my last writing, Cancer Season: Act I, as there was an underlying feeling of discontent with some aspect of it. It dawned on me that I was writing it as the Sun was in the final few degrees of externally oriented Gemini, giving it an erratic and ungrounded energy that is anti-thetical to Cancer’s inward and sensitive ways. A few of the aspects were focused on this outer world and the big events that seem staged for the near future, rather than some of the deeper internal ways we can work with these planetary forces. (Which I must laugh at the accuracy of my prediction for the June 22-23 yod that is currently in exact alignment as I am having this realization; the uncomfortably felt, unseen force that compels one to keep digging for answers and make some changes for things to evolve and flow again.) Now that I’m immersed in these downward moving waters and in touch with Earth again I would like to add some *additional personal context* to these upcoming aspects, along with the final week of aspects this season.

*Tuesday June 24 - Sun conjunct Jupiter at 3º Cancer - This rebirth of Jupiter may illuminate some previously hidden emotional needs that are ready to be acknowledged and gently emerge in due time. Family, and especially parental, roots hold a library of teachings that offer potentially life-changing context for the ways in which we seek to fulfill these emotional needs in relationships. Sage advice from a trusted person that embodies a fiercely loving mother archetype could assist in bringing this out for you, as the hard shell around ones spiritual heart can now begin to soften and heal in the waters of vulnerable surrender.

*Sunday June 29 - Mercury 3º Leo opposite Pluto in Aquarius - This aspect can bring a radical new depth to ones social life, impacting the way you perceive of yourself when placed in the limelight. A cracking open of the heart to expose a more authentic expression that’s been hidden away. There’s an objective coolness and pointedness in this experience that could be taken in a distorted and very personal way, which upon closer inspection is the part of ones identity that is needing to be shed. Oppositions bring separation, and separation is natural.

*Friday July 4 - Venus conjunct Uranus at 29º Taurus - The personal implications of this transit were overshadowed by the collective “holiday” and other govern”mental” affairs, which was not fair to the queen of Earth’s dramatic exit from her home sign. Taurus and Venus are extremely personal energies, as they rule our bodies and the nourishment they require from the land for survival. This conjunction with the wild hare of Uranus may activate a spontaneous desire for a lovely picnic adventure with friends that ends with a dark night sky watch, and you and your beloveds bear witness to an unexplainable orb light show or are visited by a supernatural being that telepathically shares some radically practical advice for these coming times of change on Earth. Keep watch for an uptick in Bigfoot encounters, or other similar cryptid sightings. Simplicity and the unexpected abundance that this can bring forward are the key energies at play I’d say, even if they don’t manifest in such offbeat ways! Other possibilities would be out of left field romances getting sparked, might be a good day to play the lottery, or hosting an astrologically themed speed dating event, or improvisational dinner theater of the absurd. . . if anybody has anything close to these things happen please leave a comment below, I’d love to hear how this actually plays out :)

In regards to the ramp up of war that this past weekend held, there could be an unexpected agreement made that at least temporarily grounds out some of the fiery antics of the machine. Or this could also be another supply chain or world resource quake that disrupts the regular flow of goods to their desired places. Financial surprises are to be expected as well, personal and global, with currencies suddenly appearing and/or disappearing. With Uranus on the last degree of fixed Earth, all kinds of resource oriented disruptions are on the table for a few more days, then it’s on to etheric communication systems, language and messaging, neighborly relations and short term travels that will begin to receive these lightning bolts of change through November. This ~5 month window is our first real glimpse and felt experience of the new world that is in this liminal phase of potentialities still to some extent. Take notes on outer experiences but also keep track of the more universal languages that speak in synchronicities, dreams, flora and fauna, and star-crossed soul meetings that feel significant here, as there will be an unfolding weaving of these whispery threads from the cosmos that operates outside of space and time. It’s a magical co-creation that you can actively participate in by recording these significant moments and basically drawing a map of your unique future in this world that is being vibrationally constructed before our consciousness and below our feet.

Now on to the final aspects of Cancer Season ~

Thursday July 17 - Mercury stations retrograde at 15º Leo, sextile Venus in Gemini - Dramatic exclamations and explanations erupt as Mercury grinds away at this potent degree of fixed fire energy. Spontaneous releases of pent up emotions may cause some reversals of planned action. As always with Mercury’s shadowed journeys into the underworld, sharpen your awareness around communications, plan on some delays and soften the linear edges of certainty in your perceptions of reality. The next 3 weeks are here to teach us how to reconnect and restore vitality to the stagnant caverns of the heart; where creations remained ideas, and truths remained silent. Venus’ influence here initially offers some comforting words to try and calm the anxiety or restlessness that may be stirred up. A laughter filled phone call with a friend or sibling, a trip to the botanical garden or library, or watching a favorite childhood movie are all ways that this sextile can assist in balancing the fiery fixation of the station. These activities could also catalyze a little awakening that begins the enlivening journey of healing a numb spot in ones heart space.

Saturday-Sunday July 19-20 - Sun 27º Cancer square Chiron in Aries // Mars conjunct South Node at 19º Virgo, opposite North Node in Pisces - Speaking of awakenings, the end of Cancer season brings a potent acceleration of memorable and fated change. A sensitive topic that first came up around April 12 this year is reanimated by a challenge from what may feel like a familiar adversary. April 12 was when the Sun was conjunct Chiron, and Mars was squaring them from 27º of Cancer, which is exactly where the Sun is now. And Mars had actually hit this spot 3 times in his retrograde journey starting last fall, so this is probably in the territory of an old family matter where a series of defenses were constructed due to threatening and aggressive projections from within the security of ones home. Internalized violence towards oneself in the form of denying emotional needs, shutting out supportive allies and misguided angry outbursts were possible effects of these early experiences. The Sun is here shining his healing light on the repair work needed for ones heart and inner child. There’s something to be said for slowing down and retreating into a womb like space that is counterbalancing all of the fast moving and reactionary energies of Chiron and Mars. Mars is ruling Chiron’s action in Aries, while he’s conjunct the South Node of the Moon in Virgo, of which Chiron has some exaltation in. Karmic actions will be swift, and personal purity tests and self judgements may be taken to extremes that really don’t have context in ones current physical reality. Discernment may seem off.

Physically these energies may appear as sudden gastrointestinal distress, gut or liver inflammation, skin eruptions, and possibly headaches as well, try to remember that this too shall pass. Bitter foods and digestive herbs such as ginger, dandelion root, oregon grape root, gentian, peppermint and chamomile will be your friends this weekend. There’s a divine coordination underway where a sacred sacrifice of personal will is made and selfless action is taken, along with some gut-wrenching vulnerability that leaves one feeling intensely raw. Ultimately these are necessary payments to clear a karmic debt and proceed on your wisdom path with greater integrity, grit and renewed clarity of your larger mission in life that will revitalize your spirit come the season of the lion.
