Aries Season

Aries season begins in the midst of the eclipse portal, giving the birth of this astrological year a dramatic entrance and begrudging acceptance of unknown unknowns. A clear direction to channel this raring to go Mars energy is still in flux, which runs counter to the assumed re-balancing energy that we experience in the shared light of night and day. This is a time of much excitement, renewing one’s spirit and outlook on life to brighter hues on the horizon. That said, it may feel like we’re living in a pinball machine, making erratic moves that scramble ones linear orientation to getting shit done, while experiencing some shocking little blasts of awareness that ping and sting.

In the tarot, Aries is held in the archetype of the Emperor, reigning over his kingdom from a throne of exalted power and prestige. This card is associated with 4, which brings an energetic stability and ability to direct one’s life force and willpower into whatever it deems worthy from this head strong place. Aries governs the head in the body, which also tells us that there is an inherent over emphasis on the intellectual and instinctual ideations that fuel ones actions here. The heart and spirit are left out of the equation, which is apparent if you study any kind of historical accounts of the rise and fall of empires, from the viewpoint of the people being governed. So of course, we see how the ruler of Aries, Mars, fits into this story as the embodiment of the warrior and the violence that is intimately entwined here. The instinctual nature that springs from this fire pit can bring incredible passion projects into being, spark life changing relationships that redefine ones identity in the process, as well as blow up anything that gets in its way, shrapnel and fallout be damned. There’s a rawness of power that can be appreciated and also appropriately cautioned about as there’s a very fine line between birth and death, and rarely is it a non-violent process whether that’s experienced internally or externally. This theme of endings and beginnings continues this season, which was parsed out in my previous Venus writing.

Running in the background these next few weeks is a sextile between Saturn in Pisces and Uranus in Taurus, facilitating opportunities to embrace new responsibilities with a refreshingly radical understanding of how to integrate these into your world. An expansion of collective concepts that have been around for a very long time are imminent, especially around spirituality, compassion and ways of being in service to higher forces that are no longer wrapped in martyrdom but stem from a strong, liberated and individuated core. Constricted thought forms around self worth and ones place and role in the world can suddenly dissipate, opening a whole new path forward.

Aries season is no joke, there are a cascade of direct planetary aspects happening almost everyday at the beginning of this new year, the speed and intensity will most definitely be felt. As stated in Pisces season, give yourself personal timeouts to recover from the one-two hits that keep on coming. Here we go!

Thursday March 20 - Spring Equinox Sun enters Aries - There is a celebratory attitude initiated here as the Sun harmonically resonates with this cardinal fire energy, finally able to radiate its enlightening power into our lives with a new depth of wisdom and understanding collected from its past year around the zodiacal sky clock. A renewal of ones life force that enlivens whatever house and area of life that Aries inhabits in your natal chart. The head is emphasized here, with a shift to ramming ones way through this wild time. In the words of the ever wise Beastie Boys, check your head. With the retrogrades and eclipses, one must keep a regulator on the instinct to just jump into the fire that catches ones attention. The pain and fallout this year could have extra consequences.

Friday March 21 - Venus RX 3º Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius - The second of three sextiles made between Venus and Pluto brings probably the most potent and intense few days of her inner journey as Venus is in direct contact with the lord of the Underworld. The first sextile was formed the first week of February, way back in Aquarius season, think about any people that showed up for you that enlivened some disconnected or hidden aspect of your soul, a heart spark of hope that has been dormant for ages. Or perhaps somebody was pushing against some personal boundaries that are really bringing a shadowed, karmic story to light through the deeper energies it activated. In this second, retrograde sextile you have an opportunity to extract and reclaim the parts of yourself that were affected in this previous experience. The conscious effort put into this excavation process will be reflected in the outcome later down the road at the final sextile between these planets the first week of May.

Saturday March 22 - Sun conjunct Venus RX 2º Aries - It might feel like one has undergone heart surgery, without the anesthetic. An authentic rawness of spirit is illuminated in the darkest night of this heart and soul journey. The rumblings of possibilities are sensed, but this time is really an invitation of involution, to actively spiral into the center of the deepest hurts threaded to those raw experiences of powerlessness, abandonment, despair, betrayal and self doubt that still haunt this cavern inside. This seeds the rebirth of Venus into her morning star phase, as she preps herself to emerge victorious from the battles that have raged within oneself.

Sunday March 23 - Sun 3º Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius // Mars 21º Cancer square Chiron in Aries - Collective ideas about individual identities and how they fit into these larger systems of power and control receive an emphatic clarification. How have we been forced into fighting roles that keep these invisible control grids alive? We can see the cog that we have been formed into, and with that knowledge may choose to disengage from this assignment, perhaps not yet having a clear idea of what role or identity we are going to take on. Give this time to unfold.

Along with this is about a week long square between Mars and Chiron, bringing in another layer to the warring factions of ones inner world, highlighting the conflicts that one has been working through the last 6 months. This is the resolution square of Mars’ 3 retrograde aspects to Chiron that were first catalyzed in the middle of October, and then the last week of January. The ways that nationalism, religious fundamentalism, racism and other “othering” ideologies have been embraced as a core identity built out of broken homes that threatened ones core emotional security early in life may be seen playing out in amplified calls for war on whatever group is in the crosshairs. We’ll be especially sensitive to this around March 29-30 when the Moon conjuncts Chiron, just after the Solar Eclipse.

Monday March 24 - Sun conjunct Mercury RX 4º Aries - This marks the halfway point of Mercury’s retrograde adventure, again bringing this sort of light at the end of the tunnel effect. Realizations of the ways fiery rhetoric have been used to implant false mental programming that override ones true, authentic self may be illuminated. These are probably not nice realizations to have about oneself. But the only way to extract the roots of this from ones head is to see and accept what has been done. And then be able to move forward with this knowledge and awareness to make new choices. The Mars - Chiron energy still at play will most likely bring some external experiences into our lives to feel the real world ways that these messages have impacted our lives.

Tuesday March 25 - Mercury RX 3º Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius - Riding this wave of back to back to back intense aspects, this continues the energy of yesterday’s dawning awarenesses, just adding an intensity that may feel like one is in a bottomless pit of suffering. This is good. It means that we’re getting somewhere meaningful.

Thursday March 27 - Venus RX re-enters Pisces, conjunct Neptune 29º Pisces // Saturn 24º Pisces sextile Uranus in Taurus (in effect through April 14) - Venus crosses the evolutionary chasm of birth and death, to rejoin her higher vibrational, sister planet of Neptune. A falling away of illusions about who and what one is relationship with and to, in the human relational realm and the higher spiritual realms. The response is either a doubling down on the illusion that embroils one in a fantasy world of self imprisonment, which will lead to a harder ripping away of these things later on. Or one allows a complete dissolve of all ties to what one thinks is their spiritual path and the relationships that have gotten one to this place, resting in the liminal waves of Source and its greater wisdom of organizational principles.

Saturn and Uranus now perfect their sextile that has been in action this whole season, there’s a peak in this building wave of energy, pushing one to the breakthrough point discussed in the opening notes of this post.

Saturday March 29 - New Moon Solar Eclipse 9º Aries // Mercury RX re-enters Pisces, conjunct Neptune 29ª Pisces - The final chapter of the Aries - Libra eclipses is written today, bearing the fruits of a year and a half of exiting co-dependent relations and self deprecating habits, and a general rebuilding of ones sovereign self. Being a North Node eclipse there will be an influx of energy that somewhat jarringly re-orients one to this emerging new self. On the global front this may hold an escalation of violently divisive tactics, continuing an aggressive potentisation of fundamentalist, flag wielding factions of all sorts. For some people this year and a half has helped to remove the blinders that identity politics, culture and partnerships have wrapped over ones eyes, while for others there’s been a horizontal slide into becoming wrapped even tighter in this cocoon of idealogies that create a very warped sense of self and reality. This breaking point of the final Aries eclipse, which from now on will be in Pisces for another year+ feels like this is another major mark of the prophecy of the splitting of worlds. This day is kind of a final frontier of where one will land in this momentous planetary shift. Store this tidbit away in your mind, as I imagine the reality of this vibrational shift will start to be seen in more and more tangible areas of ones life.

Mercury’s re-entrance to Pisces may bring about a period to begin the process of self-forgiveness in light of how one has been propagandized into being at war with ones fellow humans and the higher creator that one is a fractal shard of. This is a time of deepening and expanding your concepts of compassion that will ripple into all communications and interactions with others, eventually. Things should feel like they get a fuzzy kind of overlay again for a bit, the direct verbal arrows that we briefly had locked and loaded in Aries land in a roaring sea, deadening their intended effect. Let your mind return to a more conceptual framework, dreaming but not yet doing.

Sunday March 30 - Neptune enters Aries - A major cultural vibe shift that is a marked leap from the past 14 years of Neptune swimming in its oceanic home of Pisces. Neptune was last in this initiatory fire sign from 1861 - 1875, a transformative era of American history that was first marked by Lincoln’s inauguration in 1861, and the splitting of the US with the secession of the southern states in the midst of this change of power. These were underway while Neptune was at the anaretic 29º of Pisces, building in intensity to cross the zodiacal endpoint. Just a few months later the Civil War erupted the day before Neptune actually crossed this world ending and beginning divide. History doesn’t repeat but it sure does run along some interesting parallels, eh? This doesn’t mean that we are going to have the exact same experiences, but the energy in the air seems quite similar as so many people cling fervently to their well cultivated buffet of beliefs that have been adopted as personal identities. As well as the divisive rhetoric, that really has been reaching absurd levels of propaganda for a good 20 + years, at least, from “both” sides of the political aisle… two wings, same bird, one agenda for control. We are going to see, I think, a ramp up in the amplitude and intensity of psychological and spiritual / religious battles, as Neptune will make its first sign based sextile to Pluto in Aquarius. During the Civil War, Pluto was in Taurus, really making it a boots on the ground battle for tangible land and resources. Now the territory up for grabs is ones personal consciousness and sovereignty, as well as the powerful collective story that can shape realities for entire populations of people. Hence the techno-bro cabinet that is ushering in the invisible chains that aim to enslave people through digital existences, biomedical control mechanisms, weather (air) manipulation and generally weaponizing technology that at one time held great promise for advancing humanity. Luckily, the best laid plans rarely play out in such ways, and a lot of this tech and the emerging AI seem to perform at much lower levels in a lot of real world situations. There’s no match for the power of a connection with Spirit and with the consciousness of Earth. So even in the midst of such overwhelming darkness and plight, there are things that are going to pop in to this strange, new territory that we can’t even begin to understand or see yet that may quickly change trajectories of certain stories. Neptune in Aries is the energy of the spiritual and spirited warrior, it is cultivating a renewed and refined courageousness, creativity, passion and gnosis of ones vital self that is pretty unfuckwithable. We will start to see other cultural changes as well, giving a new sharp edge to art, film and music, the flavors of escapes that people gravitate towards, and the kinds of myths that hold sway over the collective consciousness.

There will be more to write about down the road, but this seems like a long enough intro! Neptune will be here until October 23 when it retrogrades back to Pisces, we’ll get a nice little holiday respite until it returns to Aries on January 26, 2026 for a 14 year fireball run.

Monday March 31 - Venus RX conjunct North Node 27º Pisces - Venus makes her second conjunction to this force that is pulling us into a higher vibrational state of oneness and spiritual understanding. Pay attention to inner narratives and thought forms that pull one into mental loops of self doubt, judgement and stunted compassion. You may receive information that supports a breakthrough in your relationship to money as an energetic currency, as well as inner dimensional wounds that are to be healed for bringing in a new level of relating to others from a more compassionate and truthful alignment.

Wednesday April 2 - Mercury RX conjunct North Node 27ª Pisces // Mars 24º Cancer trine Saturn in Pisces and sextile Uranus in Taurus - Our minds catch a glimpse of dimensional awareness that can soften some of the straightforward, linear ways it likes to work for a much more elevated visionary grasp of the changes we are going through. Trust the synchronistic communications that are flowing down from unseen worlds.

This day also kicks off a week long harmonic flow of energy between Mars, Uranus and Saturn, bringing some surprising leadership opportunities forth that open new depths of responsibility, sensitivity and endurance. Be excited and walk with purpose, trusting the timing of each step in this road opening experience.

Saturday April 5 - Sun 16º Aries sextile Jupiter in Gemini // Venus RX conjunct Saturn 25º Pisces, trine Mars 25º Cancer, sextile Uranus in Taurus - Inspiration strikes that continues this sense of things opening up for us now. Not only with Jupiter’s enthusiastic messages and wisdom streaming into what fires up our hearts, but now Venus joins the Mars, Uranus, Saturn configuration that began a couple days ago and continues through April 9. The feminine principle of receptivity is enmeshed with the masculine go-getter energies that were activated, showing us where we get caught up in allowing divinity to do its magic in what we are being guided to produce. This may feel like one is caught in an infinite whirlpool that will never take off, but there’s a deeper incubation underway that requires patience and a larger perspective of the grand design. This will change.

Monday April 7 - Mercury direct 26º Pisces conjunct North Node, Saturn, Venus RX at 26º Pisces and trine Mars in Cancer - Full clarity of ones situation may not emerge yet but there will be a redirection of energy here that at least mentally is now able to take in some light and start to see the next step forward.

Wednesday April 9 - Mars 27º Cancer trine North Node and Mercury in Pisces, sextile South Node in Virgo - There’s a dynamic release of emotional power that may feel like it’s clearing generations of locked up angst, resentment and grief. The Moon crosses the South Node April 10, which really opens the karmic relief valve. Health issues may be catalyzed in this process of clearing the emotional body. These couple of days are a major cathartic point that has been in the works for months now, feel everything that is coming up with the knowing that it is clearing your evolutionary path of so many old hurts that have held you captive. There may be a lot of choices to be suddenly made, as the old moves out new desires and avenues to direct your power and attention to pop up.

Saturday April 12 - Libra Full Moon 23º with Sun 23º Aries conjunct Chiron // Venus direct 24º Pisces // Mercury 28ª Pisces trine Mars in Cancer (thru 15th) - This Full Moon closes two massive windows of change, hallefuckinlujah. This is our first lunation post-eclipses, and Venus stations direct who is also the ruler of this powerfully lit moon. All of the planets are now moving in forward motion. We should really start to feel this shift in the coming days, with life starting to integrate into the new ground that’s been accessed after the dynamite of the last 6+ weeks.

A historical side note here related to the Neptune ingress - The Civil War began on April 12, 1861 with the battle at Fort Sumter. Neptune officially crossed into Aries on April 13. I sense a fractal rippling of energy with this key date of such prominence in American history. Chiron’s involvement could force a reckoning with this period of history that is still influencing a lot of the systems of governance and personal ideas about this nation’s development.

The Moon enables an objective feel and view of the last adjustment we need to make to solidify our vital force in its singular power that is free of external interferences, whether it’s from people or legal and social entities. We may have to say no to the one person in our lives that we never thought we’d have to or be able to say no to. A final exam that tests all of the disentanglement of the past couple of years. There’s an incoming mastery of self that will fuel all of our actions and movement forward. We’ll be able to stand up for ourselves in new ways that will be absolutely necessary for these coming years.

Venus stationing direct marks the turning point of her underworld journey, where she starts to make her way back to the light of the world. The murky experiences in relationships these past 42 days and nights will begin to clear, bringing resolution to the lessons of the heart as she makes her way back over these degrees of Pisces and Aries. There’s a unification of our old world self and new world self that will harmonize in some really beautiful and perhaps strange ways this next month as she dances through her shadow degrees. Outer expressions of style and adornment will reflect this inner change. On the collective front the money systems and economics of life will also enter a new existence, expect more volatility and rapid changes to how things are valued. Also systems of government are in new territory which may really not settle into a new groove until early June when Venus enters her grounded home of Taurus, for a little while at least.

Tuesday April 15 - Mercury enters Aries conjunct Neptune 0º Aries - Dreams and the communication of them gets lit! A day of rapid fire brainstorms that spark creative passions and projects to life after so much strife and patience (or frustrations) and reworking of the inner structures of ones life. Keep a notebook handy for all that comes your way.

Thursday April 17 - Mars enters Leo forming a Grand Fire-Water Trine with Juno in Scorpio, Neptune & Mercury in Aries, and the North Node, Saturn & Venus in Pisces - We end Aries season in a crazy pyramid of POWER. The Sun and Mars are in mutual reception, feeding the fires of ones heart and head in a united front to forge ones own authentic path forward. The asteroid Juno that influences who and what we make commitments to is holding a powerful corner of this flow of energy. We’re not doing this alone. We now get to team up with another who we have found ourselves with in this new river of energy that matches our newly anchored true Self. What is coming out of this has no reference of past experiences, this is totally new and one must keep this future facing reference of awe and unknown unknowns. A blessed energy to end this gauntlet with after so much upheaval and suffering. This Grand Trine is in effect through the opening days of Taurus season, which the Sun’s entrance into this fixed Earth energy really sets the trajectory forward, so in the final days of Aries make sure your head and thoughts are holding the frequency and visions of the future that your heart knows is real and true.
