The resting point of Mars from February 10 - March 9
Mars has been transforming the ways we use our willpower, how we react to and interact with power, reworking inner protective fortresses and healing the wells of energy our instinctive actions spring from since its turn inward on December 6, 2024. The red planet will land upon 17º of Cancer soon, spending a whole month spinning away at this degree in our respective charts. If you have any natal planets at 17º of Cardinal signs (Aries, Libra or Capricorn) this will be an extended period of intensely focused growth, initiating a push to make a final refinement to this area of ones life.
I wanted to provide some more abstract information about this specific degree of the zodiac as it will be lit up for everyone and will definitely be making more sparks in the outer world as the war cries and power grabs will accelerate. Be that as it may, there is a great amount of personal wisdom to be gleaned from contemplating some channelings about this section of the sky. This is a 2 volume book where he channeled the symbolic language, images and energy that each degree of the zodiac holds. (A technical note, 17º of Cancer is called the 18th degree, since each sign begins with a 0º so you add one degree for where a planet is sitting in a chart.) The 18th degree of Cancer is also the 108th degree of the whole zodiac, when counting from 0º of Aries, which also seems notable as this number is profoundly important in spiritual lineages and numerology.

Omega Symbol: Gnomes creating beautiful and ornate metalwork. - To create such metalwork as the gnomes are creating requires the force of fire and hammering and patience in the slow shaping. This is hard work. You like it. You want to do it with others. You want your skills and their skills to be coordinated. They must be. And it can’t be just for practical reasons - there must be beauty in the result, and you would prefer it to be intricate. Your hearty love of such things can bring harmony and enthusiasm to the collective work.
Pleiadian Symbol: A mother bird and her chicks taking a dust bath. - You help others come to terms with the practical aspects of the world, and offer guidance pertaining to how to deal with the physical limits of life. Your essential focus is on freedom - being able to inhabit the air and fly wherever you so desire, but you realize that to do this in a safe way requires attention to the needs imposed by life’s limits. This is what you aim to teach.
Chandra Symbol: A black child playing with a tiger. - Innocence toying with power can, on one hand be dangerous, but if it is innocent enough, that innocence can protect it. The Gnomes of the Omega Symbol work with something that is very resistive - the metal, whereas the child interacts with something very volatile. In both cases a challenge is taken up, the challenge of creating something wonderful, and the challenge of meeting power head on. Love is what will ultimately tame the tiger, and patience and attentiveness is what will ultimately create the beautiful metalwork.
Azoth Symbol: A man playing traditional airs on an old lute. - A vivid recreation of uplifting memories so that they may be appreciated by others. Just as the man plays the lute, in the Chandra Symbol the child plays with the tiger, and as he does he tames it.
Omega Oracle: Deep in the mountain’s caverns they feed the furnaces, keep the forges aglow, workers hammering the heated iron, patiently beating, drawing and twisting it into shapes of flora, fauna, beats, flowers, vines, and birds, forms that are born and live and pass away. But mimicked in iron they will cool and live for untold centuries, weathering winters and winds and the rot that conquers all living things, records blessed by the gods of memory and death.
Azoth Oracle: Memories are the blood of songs - they give them life. And even when those who hear songs and feed them with their memories pass away, those memories continue within the songs, and are felt by new ears that hear them. This is why when you hear an old song you feel you’re about to recall something, to see something in you inner vision that never quite appears, unless you allow your imagination to hear it, which loves to create new memories from old songs’ blood.
There you have it. The resonance with Mars is so strong in these channeled pieces, as this planet governs iron, fire and the blood. The 4 of Wands, with Venus in Aries ushers in a renewal of values and principles that are founded upon an awakened harmonization of receptive Feminine energy with Masculine structures and fortitude. In every ending is a beginning. This also resonates with the fact that Venus will be turning retrograde in Aries starting March 1st, so there’s a flow right into the next underworld journey of this deeply personal planet. Relationships built upon broken structures of authority, shattered willpower and fucked up manifestations of these will now be up for review. The Art card, associated with Sagittarius, brings an alchemical transformation of the elements of Fire and Water, unrestrained Masculine upward moving energy and unrestrained Feminine downward moving energy. A perfect pairing of how the Mars retrograde cycle and Venus retrograde cycle are doing some profound magic to expand our spiritual frameworks of reality and bring forth new visions of what is possible when aligned with universal and divine Truth. Letting go of egoic structures is the only way to this new level of spirit and being. We’ll see what makes it through this cosmic forge in the coming months, as once June hits we will be free of the shadow periods of both of these planets and launched into completely new territory, where new adventures await! And an adventure it will surely be.
